Post Indigenous Jobs – For Employers

Post Indigenous jobs for free and reach Indigenous, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, First Nations, Māori, Native American, Inuit and Métis candidates.

Barayamal supports employers across Australia, Canada, Aotearoa New Zealand and the United States. Create an employer account, publish a transparent role and give candidates a clear application path. New posts are reviewed before publishing.

Post a job in three steps

  1. Create a free employer account or sign in.
  2. Add the role title, salary, location, work arrangement, closing date and application details.
  3. Submit the role for review. Link to your ATS, or use Barayamal's internal application workflow when it suits the role.

What candidates need to know

  • Salary range, employment basis and contract length.
  • Location, remote or hybrid expectations, travel and working hours.
  • Whether the role is open to all applicants, targeted or an identified position, including any eligibility requirements.
  • Closing date, selection steps and the correct application link.
  • Cultural safety, mentoring, community engagement and employee-network support where relevant.

Manage applications consistently

For applications received through Barayamal, use the shared workflow: Received → Shortlisted → Interview → Finalist → Offer → Hired. Use Withdrawn or Not Selected when appropriate.

Keep private notes factual and job-related. A practical format is: Evidence / Concerns / Next action / Owner / Due date. Do not record irrelevant sensitive personal information or unsupported assumptions.

Keep candidates informed

Status changes do not send a candidate message automatically, so send a short update at acknowledgement, interview, delay and outcome. Keep the timing, contact person and next step clear, and offer reasonable adjustments where relevant.

  • Acknowledgement: Thanks for applying for [role]. We received your application and expect to update you by [date].
  • Interview: We would like to invite you to discuss [role]. Please choose from [times] or tell us what adjustment would help you participate.
  • Delay: We are still reviewing applications for [role]. The revised update date is [date]. Thank you for your patience.
  • Outcome: Thank you for the time you invested in [role]. [Outcome]. If appropriate, we can share job-related feedback or keep you informed about future roles.
