    Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools invites applications for the position of Consultant of Learning Services - First Nations, M�tis and Inuit Education. This is a full time, continuing position with duties commencing with the 2026-2027 school year. The Consultant of Learning Services - First Nations, M�tis and Inuit Education is a member of the First Nations, M�tis and Inuit Education Learning Community within Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and is responsible for division-wide leadership for our Indigenous language curriculums and pedagogies, with a specific emphasis on the development of resource materials and professional development for Indigenous language teachers. The successful candidate will also liaise with Indigenous organizations and communities in the development of Indigenous language retention and proliferation. 

    Preference will be extended to applicants who possess the following:

    • Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
    • Commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education
    • A Master's Degree in Education
    • Five years of successful teaching experience
    • The ability to articulate effective strategies for First Nations, M�tis and Inuit languages curriculum development and actualization.
    • A highly developed Indigenous knowledge base with extensive competencies in areas such as; fluency in an Indigenous language, Elder protocols, ceremonies, strong Indigenous cultural competencies, a strong understanding of Indigenous learning practices, M�tis and Cree language pedagogies, as well as knowledge of Indigenous pedagogical practices and curriculum adaptations
    • A demonstrated knowledge of epistemological and pedagogical considerations for First Nations, M�tis and Inuit learners
    • Ability to facilitate professional learning for teachers

    • A demonstrated ability to work within a strong team philosophy as well as independently
