RESEARCH ASSISTANT – INDIGENOUS HEALTH

Temporary, Full-Time (1 Year Contract with the possibility for a permanent position)
SUMMARY
The Research Assistant (RA), working closely with the Coordinator of Indigenous Health Research (Anishinaabe-kwe from Dokis First Nation) will support the operationalization of Indigenous health-related research projects at Health Sciences North (HSN) and the Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI). This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Indigenous-led and community-driven health research, grounded in Indigenous values, methodologies, and community priorities. The RA will assist in multiple research studies by screening and determining eligibility of patients, conducting medical chart reviews, and entering data in various databases. The RA will develop collaborative research approaches, facilitate and coordinate the submission and review processes of clinical research, support the ongoing implementation of projects, and monitor project progress for physicians, researchers, clinicians, scientists, and community members involved in research. The successful candidate will help ensure that research adheres to OCAP and other community-based data governance principles, apply Indigenous methodologies to research, and work in collaboration with communities and Indigenous organizations.
