TRACKS is recruiting on behalf of a respected Northern Territory organisation to find an outstanding Coordinator to lead a community-based youth program in Katherine. This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, strengthen community connections, and help create positive outcomes for young people through engaging and culturally safe programs.

About the Role
As the Indigenous Youth Program (IYP) Coordinator, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of the IYP in Katherine. You'll guide and develop a team of youth workers, ensure programs are safe and compliant with WHS and safeguarding requirements, manage budgets and schedules, and build strong relationships with local schools, community organisations, and Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor youth workers to achieve program objectives
- Plan daily, monthly, and annual program schedules and monitor budgets and funding usage.
- Ensure compliance with Safeguarding Children and Young People policies and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate engaging youth programs using quantitative and qualitative outcomes.
- Collaborate across NT services, represent the organisation at external meetings, and build community partnerships.
- Work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTQIA+ young people to create inclusive and safe spaces.
About You
Essential
- Relevant degree with experience; an associate diploma with substantial expertise; or a Certificate IV with extensive experience.
- Valid Working with Children Clearance and a satisfactory Criminal History Check, with the right to work in Australia.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (HLTAID003 or higher).
- Demonstrated experience in youth work and team leadership, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, adapt to change, and work some evenings and weekends.
Desirable
- Five or more years' experience in Youth and Community Services, supported by relevant qualifications.
- Youth Mental Health First Aid, de-escalation training, and communication training.
