About the role: 

Seymour College is seeking a dedicated AIEF and First Nations Liaison to join our Middle and Senior campus. This position plays an important role in supporting Indigenous and AIEF students, strengthening relationships between families, staff, and the wider College community, and promoting a strong sense of belonging across both the Day School and Boarding House. 

This fixed term, part time role commencing mid-January 2026 works 18-20 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year. The key responsibilities are to:  

  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous and AIEF students and their families. 
  • Collaborate with staff, pastoral leaders, and the Director of Boarding to enhance student engagement and wellbeing. 
  • Lead the implementation of the College’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and coordinate initiatives such as Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. 
  • Liaise with AIEF and external stakeholders regarding student progress, pathways, and opportunities. 
  • Support the daily life of the Boarding House community through visibility, communication, and student care. 


Skills And Experiences

About you: 

As the successful candidate, you will have: 

  • Qualifications and/or experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational environment. 
  • A strong understanding of issues affecting Indigenous students and their education and their cultural needs.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting young people. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach. 
  • Current Working with Children Check, RRHAN-EC Fundamentals and Masterclass certification, and First Aid (HLTAID012).
