Description

The Opportunity

Wandiyali is seeking a motivated and organised Administration Assistant to support our Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Service (IDFVS) and Aboriginal Family Preservation (AFP) programs.

This role is an opportunity to be part of a passionate team working alongside Aboriginal children, young people and families to create safer, stronger and more connected communities. You will play an important role in supporting day-to-day operations, assisting staff, coordinating administration tasks, and helping ensure services are delivered efficiently and professionally.

IFDV is an NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) initiative designed to improve the safety and wellbeing of women and children experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV). The program delivers trauma-informed, client-centred, and Culturally responsive case coordination and case management, placing victim-survivors at the centre of service delivery. The program supports all family members including the person using violence through risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and coordination of services, ensuring that women and children are safe, empowered, and connected to the supports they need.

Aboriginal Family Preservation is funded by DCJ and is a key part of the broader child protection system, and wider service system that supports children and families and is considered a key lever in responding to the over representation of Aboriginal children in the foster care system. The primary objective of our AFP is keeping Aboriginal children safe at home with their families, connected to Culture, Community and Country.

The Administration Assistant plays a key role within both teams as they are the first point of contact for vulnerable clients seeking support. The Administration Assistant will;

  • Oversee the intake of enquiries and assessment of referrals for the Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Services (IDFV) Program and Aboriginal Family Preservation.
  • Oversee and coordinate referrals internally and externally
  • Maintain strong knowledge of community resources and programs
