Position Function:
Responsibilities include management and oversight of the ACH Volunteer program; matching agency needs with volunteer opportunities. This position will supervise the Volunteer Mentor Coordinator and be responsible for recruiting, screening, training and overseeing volunteers. The Volunteer Services Manager works with staff throughout the agency with a goal of building successful partnerships and experiences for ACH clients, staff, and the volunteer program. The job requires sensitivity to the population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three to five years in a non-profit role with experience managing staff, volunteers and/or event planning required. The Volunteers Services Manager must have knowledge of community and volunteer resources.
Functional: This individual must demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to engage with a wide variety of people (all age groups, income levels, ethnicity, etc.). Strong computer/technology skills required in Microsoft Suite and ability to use social media software (LinkedIn and Facebook) and Bloomerang a plus. Must be highly organized and detail-orientated, demonstrate excellent time-management skills, and be able to work independently and take initiative. Must be able to confidently work with a variety of people, from college students to top level executives and collaborate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to confidently present on behalf of the agency to internal and external audiences.
Working Conditions:
Heavy computer usage and clerical functions in an office environment, attendance at public functions, and some weekends required. Expect to work at least one evening per week. Lifting files and office supplies required, up to 25 pounds.
