Lead culturally responsive academic support that strengthens Indigenous student success at Western.
The Opportunity
The Tutoring for Success Program Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the academic success, retention and progression of Indigenous students at Western Sydney University. Working within the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education, the role coordinates and continuously improves the Tutoring for Success (TFS) Program, ensuring Indigenous students have access to high quality, culturally safe academic support.
The role designs, delivers and evaluates academic literacy and learning initiatives that build students’ capability, confidence and independence as learners. This includes coordinating the day-to-day operations of the TFS Program, overseeing tutoring services, matching tutors to students, and ensuring program activities operate effectively and efficiently. A strong focus is placed on evaluating and improving program outcomes, processes and strategies to support Indigenous student progression and success.
Working in close partnership with Indigenous students, academic staff and professional stakeholders across the University, the Tutoring for Success Program Coordinator embeds effective academic literacy practices that strengthen Indigenous students’ learning capacity and support their ability to navigate their studies with greater confidence and independence.
