About the Role:

The Entry Point Team Leader provides leadership and operational oversight to the Aboriginal-Specific Homelessness Entry Point program. This role is responsible for ensuring the team delivers high-quality, culturally designed, strengths-based support to clients. The Team Leader ensures performance targets are met, services are delivered within budget, and team members are supported in their work with a complex and vulnerable client group. Acting as the main point of contact for the team, the Team Leader offers guidance, direction, and support to maintain effective and culturally safe service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, mentoring, supporting, and motivating Entry Point workers with the necessary support, supervision, training, performance development and guidance to ensure quality service provision to community.
  • Oversee client engagement and outcomes planning undertaken by the Aboriginal Entry Point workers, ensuring culturally safe and effective support practices.
  • Respond to referrals within 24-hour timeframe and delegate client referrals based on worker suitability, capacity, and client needs.

General Duties

  • Be available to take up additional responsibility as directed by Executive Team
  • Attend relevant internal meetings and external meetings.

Professional Development

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) evaluation and activities.
  • Participate and engage in ongoing professional development and staff training need analysis.

Health & Safety

  • Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage the team to do the same.
  • Be aware of and adhere to OH&S and Health & Wellbeing policies and procedures.

Teamwork and Agency Representation

  • Maintain team boundaries and confidentiality in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Represent, promote and/or deliver the program/s in a professional high-quality manner

Skills & Experience:

  • Leadership skills to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Significant experience and understanding of Housing and Homelessness systems.
  • Ability to provide leadership and line management supervision to a team of specialist Homelessness services workers
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, along with a strong commitment to the Aboriginal community and awareness of the issues surrounding homelessness and their impact on Aboriginal people.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
  • National Police Certificate (not older than 3 months)
  • Victorian Employment Working with Children Check
