We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Māori Outcomes to lead the delivery of medium to high complexity capital works and renewals projects that contribute to Auckland Council’s Māori Outcomes Strategy. As part of a wider network of kaupapa Māori kaimahi, this role combines strong project delivery expertise with a commitment to embedding Māori outcomes across programmes of work. You’ll lead project teams made up of council staff, contractors, and external partners, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with council frameworks, while contributing to meaningful outcomes for communities.

This role requires a highly capable project professional with strong communication skills and proven experience managing medium to high complexity construction and capital works projects. You’ll bring solid knowledge of procurement, contract management, and site monitoring, along with a strong understanding of health and safety and risk management practices. The ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders — including within political environments — is essential, as is the agility to work across multiple projects and teams. A well-organised, solutions-focused approach is key, alongside confidence navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions. Importantly, you will value and bring mātauranga Māori into your work, with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ideally te reo me ōna tikanga Māori.
