You will be involved in shaping initiatives that make carbon abatement a viable and attractive proposition for landholders, businesses, and investors. More information about PIPAP is available on the PIPAP website.

This is a targeted role under GSE Rule 26 and Aboriginal people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications from other interested candidates are also welcome.

As a Project Officer in the Market Development team, you’ll help deliver projects that support a trusted and inclusive carbon market. This may include engaging Aboriginal stakeholders to strengthen carbon market participation and benefit sharing.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Project planning and delivery
  • Coordinating stakeholder consultation
  • Managing contracts and procurement
  • Working closely with a wide range of people, including landholders, industry groups, investors, and Aboriginal communities

You’ll join a supportive team that values collaboration, cultural awareness, and making a positive impact.

About You

You are a proactive and adaptable professional with a proven ability to deliver projects and engage stakeholders in complex policy, environmental, or land management contexts. Your background may include experience in natural resource management, agriculture, sustainability, regional development, investment or corporate sustainability.

You bring a strong understanding of planning and delivering projects that involve diverse stakeholder groups. You are confident in coordinating consultation processes—including with Aboriginal communities—you value inclusive engagement and cultural recognition as essential to achieving effective and equitable outcomes.

You are comfortable working in emerging policy areas and bring curiosity and a willingness to learn. You understand how government programs can support investment and participation, and you’re able to contribute to the design and delivery of interventions that promote integrity and impact. Your experience analysing information to inform program development, along with your ability to manage contracts and procurements, enables you to support effective and evidence-based program delivery.
