• Employment Type: Full time; 35 hours per week
• Duration: 1-year fixed term
• Remuneration: $127K- $143K based on experience (plus 17% Superannuation and leave loading)
• Location: Hybrid (Kensington) NSW.  Remote working within Australia may be considered for the right candidate.

Why Your Role Matters:

The Project Manager will play a lead role in delivering national projects that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with a focus on expanding point-of-care testing for infectious diseases in rural and remote regions. Working within the Kirby Institute, and in partnership with the International Centre of Point-of-Care Testing at Flinders University, the role will oversee project planning, delivery, governance, and reporting to achieve strategic and operational goals.

Key aspects of the role include building strong relationships with government, health services, and other stakeholders; supporting project budgets and contracts; managing risks and reporting; and coordinating a large team across multiple initiatives. The position also involves regular travel to regional and remote health services across Australia.

The Project Manager will report to the Program Head, SERP, and manage three direct reports.

Skills & Experience:

• Master of Public health, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in relevant field.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with an understanding of the approach, skills and personal attributes required.
• Experience working with primary health services, preferably in regional and remote areas, or equivalent knowledge and understanding of primary health care.
• Significant project management experience of a health program, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives, and documentation. Experience in infectious disease public health program desirable.
• Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ability to foster strong healthy working relationships with a range of people at different levels, both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, whilst also taking initiative to work independently, with limited direction, managing competing demands in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
• Advanced communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
• Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
