About This Opportunity

The Project Manager, Indigenous Engagement is responsible for coordinating, implementing and monitoring the Faculty’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) priorities, ensuring alignment with UQ’s whole‑of‑university commitments and supporting the delivery of key actions, milestones, and reporting requirements across HMBS.

Under the leadership of the Associate Dean (Indigenous Engagement) and the Faculty Executive Manager, this position also oversees the ongoing co‑design, development, delivery and evaluation of cultural humility training programs. This includes The Australian Blanket Exercise, Confident Allyship, and other initiatives aligned with the faculty and university priorities to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety.

To embed these commitments across the faculty, non‑Indigenous staff require sustained opportunities for personal and professional learning. This ongoing development approach creates the cultural safety, access and equity conditions necessary for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and communities to thrive.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Lead the coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Faculty’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), ensuring alignment with UQ-wide commitments and delivery against key actions, milestones and reporting requirements.

  • Drive the co-design, development, delivery and evaluation of cultural humility initiatives under senior leadership, including programs such as the Australian Blanket Exercise and Confident Allyship.

  • Embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety across the Faculty by advancing strategic initiatives that align with institutional priorities and strengthen inclusive practices.

  • Enable sustained professional learning for non-Indigenous staff, fostering a culturally safe, equitable environment that supports the success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and communities.

This position is primarily based at Herston; however, travel to St Lucia and Dutton Park is required.

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW 8
