Product Owner (Platform Migration) Mob Way Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander
Job Description
Create your best future and join Westpac as a Product Owner (Platform Migration).
This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. UNITE is about delivering 'one best way' to make our processes, systems and tech simpler so we can deliver a better experience for our customers and make things easier for our people.
What’s the role?
This role is part of our Mob Way program, a culturally grounded pathway unlocking senior opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders.
As a Product Owner, you will support the definition, prioritisation, and delivery of product outcomes that deliver business value while considering customer needs, risk, and delivery constraints. Working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders, you will help manage the product backlog and contribute to initiatives such as platform enhancements, migrations, or transformation activities.
You will support the development of product vision, roadmaps, and success measures, translating business requirements into clear and actionable features and user stories. You’ll assist with prioritisation decisions, ensuring work is well defined, outcome‑focused, and ready for delivery, while balancing value, risk, and delivery feasibility.
You will work collaboratively with technology, design, risk, and operations teams, contribute to agile ways of working, communicate progress clearly, manage dependencies with support, and ensure risk and compliance considerations are incorporated into delivery.
Through Mob Way, you will be supported to grow your career while staying connected to culture. This includes strong executive connection, opportunities to build your networks, and dedicated time for in‑community experiences and elder‑led cultural immersion.
What do I need?
Why join us?
As part of Mob Way, you will receive tailored career support through executive coaching, culturally safe leadership development, and opportunities to strengthen your connection to community and culture.
At Westpac, we’re passionate about becoming our customers’ #1 banking partner for life and we know that starts with creating the best workplace in the country. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, that means more than just a job.
