Job Summary:
To provide clerical support to assigned personnel in support of the department’s functions and services; and to contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform receptionist duties, answer phones, greet and direct visitors
- Respond to inquiries from students, parents, district personnel and/or public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction or refer to appropriate personnel
- Assist clients in completion of paperwork for various programs; distribute school supplies to students and NAEP staff for school sites; use Synergy to verify student forms (Title VI, JOM and CIB)
- Process documents and materials in support of the department’s functions and services
- Prepare a variety of materials and documents for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
- Distribute materials and documents for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
- Perform general clerical tasks in support of assigned personnel
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Update NAEP district website and other social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram and the like)
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Clerical experience

- Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; average test battery
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, parents, district employees and public; to be tactful and diplomatic and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative and direct own workload while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Located in the main office of a school, which is climate-controlled and has standard office furniture
- Frequent contact with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and sometimes outside visitors
- The environment can be busy and sometimes hectic, especially during the beginning and end of the school day or around special events
- Regular use of phones, computers, copiers, fax machines, and printers
- Mostly sedentary work, but there may be frequent need to stand, walk, or move around the office
- Occasionally required to lift or carry boxes, files, or office supplies (typically up to 20–25 lbs.)
