Job Title: Native American Programs Specialist

Summary:
The Native American Programs Specialist supports the academic and cultural success
of Native American students at Epic Charter Schools. This position works under the
direction of the Native American Programs Director and follows established protocols
to provide culturally responsive academic support, coordinate programming, support
student engagement, and assist with program services. The Specialist helps students
stay connected to their learning goals by providing academic support, monitoring
progress, encouraging engagement, and assisting with intervention efforts as needed.
This position also serves as a liaison between students, families, tribal communities,
school staff, and community partners to help students access available academic,
cultural, and program resources.

Language Skills

Must be able to explain academic support plans, cultural programming, and school processes clearly, both verbally and in writing. Able to write reports, newsletters, and correspondence that are culturally responsive and appropriate for diverse audiences. Comfortable facilitating meetings and presenting information to small and large groups, including students, families, school staff, and tribal representatives.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google applications, Canva, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

This position is primarily remote. However, the employee may be required to travel throughout the state for student events, cultural activities, trainings, meetings, school functions, and other program-related responsibilities. The noise level is usually quiet in a remote work setting and may be moderate to loud when attending events, training, or activities where students, families, or staff are present.
