    Description:
Provide Volunteer Services and support for TUHSD's Native American students in a variety of areas which include office support, chaperoning an activity or event, or volunteering to coach or sponsor one of many athletic or activity opportunities offered throughout the district.
Volunteers are required to complete all required processing prior to being on campus and/or service with students.
Volunteers serve under the direct supervision of a certified staff member at all times.
The supervising staff member will define the responsibilities of the volunteer.

    Application and Selection Steps:
    1. Apply Online: Complete and submit the online Volunteer application.
    2. Contact Site Administration: Contact the school where you applied to serve and let them know your application is complete.
    3. Electronic Request (PAR) for Processing Sent by Campus: The school/department must complete an electronic form (a Volunteer PAR) requesting that Human Resources clear you to be a volunteer on their campus/department.
    4. Processing Appointment: Due to the volume of volunteers the district clears each year, volunteers cannot be cleared or processed as "drop-ins."  A Human Resources Specialists will contact you to schedule an appointment when you have a current volunteer application and request PAR on file, in addition to you being issued  or having a valid AZ IVP DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card and a cleared TUHSD background check.
    5. Work Permit:  A Work Permit will be issued and sent electronically to campus/department administration, hosting teacher, and volunteer. The issuance and your receipt of the district's work permit, is your clearance to be on campus and/or service with students.

Please remember that your Work Permit is valid for one school year, from the date of approval through June 30. Your school/department must update your request to volunteer annually, but re-fingerprinting is only required approximately every six years depending on the expiration date of your fingerprint clearance card.
