POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction, performs communication and instructional support work involving students, staff, parents and the community. Knowledge of school programs, the school communities and organizations, and available community services and resources in Jefferson County. Ability to work effectively with school staff, parents, the community, local organizations, and diverse socioeconomic groups.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Participation in District sponsored in-service activities
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have standards of moral character as required of teachers(OAR 584-005-0005)
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Visit student’s homes to explain school programs and promote a successful home-school Partnership.
- Works with organizations and committees to promote a successful community-school Partnership.
- Assists administration with the orientation of new teachers and on-going in-services for all staff, designed to increase staff awareness and understanding of community cultures and ideas.
- Provides assistance to school staff in establishing home-school communications.
- Assists administration and staff in efforts to improve attendance.
- Promotes parent/community involvement in school events and projects.
- Assists the administration in the implementation of a positive school-wide behavior plan.
- Assists in the organization of school-wide and community/school activities and events.
- Provides advice and leadership to student clubs as part of the work day as assigned.
- Attend district meetings as requested.
- Know and comply with all relevant policies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding information related to students and their families.
- Be an appropriate role model for students in every possible way.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
COMPENSATION
- Wage Schedule: $29.63-$36.41
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance

- Personal Days, sick days
- JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
