Description

In partnership with the Historic Milwaukie Neighborhood District Association (HMNDA), Rotary Club of Milwaukie, the Milwaukie Parks Foundation, and other community partners, the City of Milwaukie is hosting a volunteer event in historic downtown. Volunteers will spend a Saturday morning supporting the region's pollinators and healthy habitats doing one of numerous activities, including invasive plant removal, weeding, trash cleanup, mulching, and a special planting event and environmental education with the Xerces Society. The event will include a station to decorate pollinator wings, numerous organizations with information tables, music, and spring weather so come join the fun!

Earth Day 2026 Details

  • Event starts at 9:30 with a brief group gathering in Scott Park.
  • Volunteers will choose a focus area at the event:
    • Trash clean-up
    • Weeding
    • Mulching
    • Invasive Plant Removal
    • Planting a Habitat Kit with the Xerces Society
  • Volunteers are asked to register by April 23rd. Registration will also be available the day of the event, but advanced registration is preferred.
  • Light refreshments will be provided. Please consider bringing a water bottle from home and using the on-site fill station to reduce waste.
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes for uneven or muddy terrain.
  • Gloves and tools will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own.
  • The city highly encourages attendees to walk, carpool, bicycle, or utilize the nearby MAX station to access the event.
