We’re looking for a passionate Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander leader to help shape and strengthen culturally safe and responsive practices across the speech pathology profession.
This important role will:
• Provide cultural advice and leadership to our CEO and employees
• Support and lead, as appropriate, the development of cultural responsiveness and culturally safe practice within the profession.
• Guide and build cultural responsiveness in our non-Indigenous members
• Provide advice to SPA employees on the implementation of the Association’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
• Land and strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations
• Contribute to our advocacy, policy and government relations activities
We’re looking for someone who is:
• A qualified speech pathologist
• Experienced in culturally safe practice and committed to Reconciliation
• Deeply knowledgeable about Indigenous cultures, health equity, and social determinants of health
• Strong networks with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations
• Skilled in working collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders
• A clear communicator with strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
You’ll work closely with our Professional or Member Advancement team and be supported in creating meaningful change for communities and the profession.
