Introduction

Maxima is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the national delivery of our Group Training and First Nations programs. As the Manager Group Training & First Nations Programs, you will lead the delivery, growth, and quality of Maxima’s Group Training and First Nations initiatives across multiple states and territories. By driving performance, strengthening partnerships, enhancing program consistency, you will ensure our services remain culturally safe, compliant, and impactful.

Working closely with the General Manager Group Training, you’ll influence national service delivery while responding to local workforce needs, employer priorities, and community expectations. This is a role for someone passionate about developing high‑performing teams, building strong employer and community relationships, and creating meaningful pathways for apprentices, trainees, and First Nations job seekers.

This position is open to candidates located anywhere in Australia. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from First Nations people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead service delivery and performance across all national regions
  • Ensure compliance, quality, and consistency of program operations
  • Support workforce planning, capability building, and ongoing professional development
  • Drive program KPIs, performance improvement, and best‑practice implementation
  • Support national business development across Group Training and First Nations programs
  • Strengthen retention and satisfaction of host employers through strong account management
  • Build pipelines, develop leads, and support local teams in employer engagement
  • Represent Maxima at industry and community events, build relationships with industry bodies, training providers, community organisations, and government agencies
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Maintain a targeted caseload to stay connected to frontline delivery
  • Analyse performance and compliance data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Contribute to the design and rollout of improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with First Nations communities, Elders, and organisations to ensure culturally safe, co‑designed pathways
  • Embed First Nations engagement principles across recruitment and program delivery

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Proven leadership experience in Group Training, employment services, recruitment, or similar environments
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret legislation and policy across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated success in business development, employer engagement, and program growth
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building skills
  • A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice
  • A current National Police Check, Working with Children Check, relevant clearances, driver’s licence
