Mae and John Hueston Distinguished Professorship in Native American and Indigenous Studies

The Department of Native American and Indigenous Studies at Dartmouth College invites applications for the Mae and John Hueston Distinguished Professorship in Native American and Indigenous Studies. We seek qualified candidates at the rank of tenured Associate or Full Professor whose research and teaching address any context for the study of Indigenous Peoples. We are especially interested in applicants whose work will contribute to the department’s ongoing commitment to Global Indigenous Studies. We welcome applicants from any disciplinary or interdisciplinary background.

In addition to having a record of excellence in scholarship, qualified candidates will also have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Dartmouth has a long-standing commitment to interdisciplinary studies and our department has long-established relations with other units at Dartmouth whose interests and engagement with Indigenous Studies intersect with our own.

PhD in Native American Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a closely related field in the humanities or social sciences; or an equivalent terminal degree. A record of distinction commensurate with a tenured appointment. Responsibilities include research and classroom instruction of undergraduate students.
