Description

The opportunity

Supply Nation has an exciting new full-time opportunity for an Indigenous Business Engagement Officer based in either Sydney or Melbourne CBD!

As Indigenous Business Engagement Officer, you will report to the Indigenous Business Engagement Manager and form the vital link between Supply Nation and our Indigenous suppliers.

This role is critical in understanding the capabilities, challenges, trends and opportunities for the Indigenous business sector.  You will work closely with Indigenous Businesses and use insights to inform Supply Nation programs and partnerships to uplift the sector. The key focus of this role is engagement with Indigenous suppliers and broader Community members to assess the effectiveness of Supply Nation’s support and identify areas for improvement or reform.

The Indigenous Business Engagement Officer supports the Head of Supplier Services and Indigenous Business Engagement Manager, designing and implementing Indigenous Business Engagement Strategy and reporting against key performance indicators. You will also be essential in supporting the Supplier Services team to increase the number of registered Indigenous businesses with a focus on key growth areas, whilst acting as the key point of communication between Supply Nation and the Indigenous business community.

More specifically, some key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Indigenous Business Engagement Manager and teams to craft and implement Indigenous business engagement strategies aligned with organisational goals as well as an Indigenous Business Service Model
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both existing and prospective Indigenous businesses, fostering connections and partnerships
  • Offer valuable insights, data, and trend analysis to the Indigenous Business Engagement Manager, guiding a strategic approach to Indigenous business engagement.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with critical community stakeholders, ensuring a consistent approach to community engagement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the Supplier Services team to ensure queries are addressed and free flowing information within the division is used for continual improvement and enhanced supplier value.
  • Educate and raise awareness of Supply Nation’s mission and represent Supply Nation at relevant events, demonstrating our commitment to Indigenous business engagement.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the social dynamics, relationships and protocols of the Indigenous community and the issues and interests of that community.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to deliver outcomes on time.
  • Demonstrated high level communication, analytical and liaison skills relevant to working with Indigenous communities and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads within tight timeframes.
  • High level administrative skills including the ability to prepare reports, communications, and general correspondence.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills demonstrating a positive approach to client service and managing expectations of Suppliers.
  • A strong commitment to superior customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive base salary up to $87,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) PLUS super and additional benefits including:
