The Her Futures Wellbeing Program is designed to improve the health, wellbeing and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women within the Kempsey region. The program aims to reduce the major health concerns among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women in the region through a tailored health and wellbeing program.

The women will engage in a 12-week group program of facilitated fitness and healthy lifestyle sessions. The outcomes of the program will include improved fitness, self-care, guided access to services and social participation.

The Program Coordinator- Her Futures Wellbeing Program duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Successfully coordinate Her Futures Wellbeing Program to eligible Aspirants in the Kempsey region
  • Coach and facilitate the learning of a group of Aspirants, focused on increasing their health, wellbeing and social connections
  • Engage in business development to increase opportunities for Her Futures Wellbeing Program in communities
  • Monitor and report weekly on progress towards Her Futures Wellbeing Program KPI’s
  • Ensure that Her Futures Wellbeing Program is a safe and welcoming environment for Aspirants
  • Communicate health and safety risks to management
  • Facilitate workshops and group activities (Health and Wellbeing related)
  • Prepare good news stories for management
  • Undertake administrative tasks including financial accountability of program activities and expenditures

Please note this role is Max Term Role until 30/06/2027

Essential

  • Demonstrated understanding of modern-day Indigenous Culture in particular the Kempsey/Dunghutti people
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community
  • Knowledge of different types of disabilities, disadvantaged cohorts, and implications of these barriers related to their health and wellbeing
  • Mentoring and coaching experience
  • WHS, HR & relevant legislative requirements e.g. WHS, Privacy, Disability & other discrimination, Social Security Act, etc
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of PC Based Applications eg MS Office (including Word, Excell, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the ability to learn and utilize in house programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate groups to deliver outcomes
  • Proven ability to self-manage time and workloads to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to undertake community engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including participants, community, business and other organisations
  • Ability to identify, report and escalate any identified risks/hazards within the workplace
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person

To be considered you must…

  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
  • Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
