The First Nations Nutrition Workforce Mentor plays a vital role in providing cultural guidance, strengthening community engagement, promoting cultural safety, and supporting the delivery of nutrition programs, in line with the three-year National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) funded Good Food People Program.
Based in Darwin, you will deliver practical, guidance, mentoring and day-to-day support to Good Food People trainees, fostering their skill development, confidence and workplace success. The role involves regular travel across remote communities in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia, supporting frontline teams to encourage healthier choices and create lasting community impact.
You will build strong, respectful relationships with store teams and communities, mentor trainees, and ensure the program remains culturally informed and community led. Working closely with the Health and Nutrition Manager, you will also contribute to program coordination, administration, reporting and continuous improvement, while upholding our values of Integrity, Empowerment, Respect and Excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Support delivery of the Nutrition Workforce Program in remote Aboriginal communities.

Mentor and support trainees to build skills and confidence.

Travel regularly to remote communities to assist with training and health initiatives.

Provide program administration, reporting and coordination support.

Ensure compliance with Outback Stores policies and procedures.
