Description
The Australian College of Optometry (ACO) is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Reconciliation Action Plan Working Party (RWP).
This group will provide guidance, advice and support to our RAP and broader ongoing journey towards reconciliation.
The ACO recognises the significant disparities in experiences and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in relation to eye health.
We acknowledge our responsibility to actively address these inequalities through culturally safe practices and meaningful action and understand that this work must be guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.
The RWP will meet at least four times per year, with additional meetings as needed. Meetings will be held as a hybrid of face-to-face at our Carlton office and online.
First Nations Community representatives will be appointed for an initial two-year period and can be extended for further terms.
