About the role
Working within the ARRCS First Nations Program team, ARRCS are actively sourcing a First Nations Career Specialist to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis and attracts a salary of $47.38 - $50.99 / hour gross (dependent on previous experience).
This exciting role is based in Darwin and will primarily see you working with new and existing trainees to support career pathways and lifestyle plans in Aged and Disability care. You will work one on one with them supporting their pathway through their Certificate III qualification being a liaison between the Aged Care Facility, the RTO and the Trainee. In addition, you will work with your colleagues by providing strong advocacy for First Nations and maintaining their connection to community.
This role would ideally suit a positive and proactive candidate who is passionate about the development and support of career pathways our First Nation people. You will be able to work autonomously and be confident in speaking with and liaising with all staff within ARRCS and 3rd party RTO’s. You will be passionate about career development for First Nations people and advocate and mentor our trainees to see them from their first day to graduation.
As the successful candidate, you will ideally show previous experience in staff mentoring and development or education. You will be confident to work with and mentor first nation trainee’s and be a proactive and positive staff member for them. You will ideally have previous hands on experience in Aged or Disability care, to have an insight and stronger understanding of the course the trainees are completing, however, this is not essential.
This role will involve is based at both our head office in Tiwi and travel to our Aged Care facilities across Darwin, Katheirne and Nhulunbuy.
