Position: Elementary Academic Advisor
Department: Indigenous Education
Location: Parkview and Laurentian Elementary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 29.75 Hours/Week
Monday - Friday
8:00 AM - 2:15 PM
Laurentian Elementary on Monday and Tuesday
Parkview Elementary on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Pay: $19.25/Hour

Brief Job Description: The Indigenous Education Elementary Academic Advisor provides tutoring and support services for students in pre K through grades 6 who are in the Indigenous Education program. Serves as a cultural liaison for students in special education. Maintains contact with teachers for student assignments, progress and concerns. Serves as a liaison between students, families and schools. Assists with parent involvement and family special events. Work is performed under the supervision of the Indigenous Education Director and principal(s).
Education and Experience: Minimum of an Associates of Arts degree required, preferably with experience working with American Indigenous families. College degree is highly desirable.
Special Requirements: Knowledge of the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indigenous students.
