RAA is deeply committed to reconciliation, as part of our purpose 'Better for members, better for our community'. Having implemented our first Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, we are now developing our second, continuing to strengthen our efforts to support reconciliation in South Australia.
Building genuine relationships with First Nations communities across South Australia is central to this work – and through trusted partnerships with First Nations organisations and key stakeholders, you'll help ensure First Nations voices genuinely shape RAA's Community Impact strategy.
This opportunity sits within the Community Impact and Environment team and reports to the Senior Manager Community Impact and Environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Developing and nurturing strong, respectful and sustainable relationships with First Nations communities and organisations
· Supporting integration of a First Nations voice into RAA’s Community Impact strategy and broader initiatives
· Providing thoughtful, expert advice across the organisation on First Nations affairs, communications and engagement
· Leading and supporting delivery of RAA’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments
· Representing RAA in external forums, including community, government and stakeholder engagements
· Facilitating collaboration between RAP Working Groups, First Nations panel members and internal stakeholders
· Identifying opportunities to enhance inclusion, participation and employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
· Providing mentoring, guidance and support to First Nations employees within RAA
About You:
You’re an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about creating positive, lasting change. You value connection, respect and collaboration, and enjoy working with a diverse range of people and communities.
You thrive on building relationships, are highly organised, and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders. You enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and bring a proactive, collaborative approach to your work.
You’ll also bring:
· Strong experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders
· Well developed understanding of First Nations issues, community dynamics and cultural protocols
· Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholders
· Experience developing and delivering strategic partnerships and community initiatives
· Knowledge and experience in Reconciliation Action Plan development and implementation
· Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
· Comfort working in evolving environments and managing multiple priorities.
