 Our Department is rapidly expanding, and we are searching for proactive and motivated team members to join our project teams within the Department Customer Service NSW. 

These talent pools are for the employment of an Aboriginal person in line with the Department’s Aboriginal Employment Strategy.

As an Assistant Project Officer, you can expect to work as a team and undertake a range of culturally informed project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects. A typical day of work for you might include:  

  • Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables.
  • Working on documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects.
  • Basic research and analysis in project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
  • Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, these may include coordinating committee meetings, preparing papers and to support project management delivery.

  • Ability to handle confidential information

Essential Requirement: This is an Identified role and evidence of Aboriginality is required.   

Aboriginal as defined by the Aboriginal Lands Rights Act 1983 (NSW) is a person who:  

  • identifies as a person of Aboriginal descent  
  • presents documentation identifying their family’s Aboriginal descent  
  • is accepted by their local Aboriginal community as a person of Aboriginal descent.
