Aboriginal Workforce Coordinator

Location: Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS)

Classification: HS3, Full-time, fixed-term (6 months)

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Aboriginal Workforce Coordinator to lead the implementation of our Aboriginal Employment Plan. This role is pivotal in building pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into health careers and fostering a workplace where culture is respected and celebrated.

About the Role

As the Aboriginal Workforce Coordinator, you will:

  • Drive strategies to attract, recruit, and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
  • Support staff through mentoring, induction, and career development.
  • Build strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, educational institutions, and partner organisations.
  • Promote culturally safe practices and embed them across KDHS.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in workforce development, recruitment, or community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
