About the role

As an NSW Government School based trainee, you will get a chance to earn while you learn by undertaking a 2 year traineeship.

These traineeships will offer you the chance to spend one day a week in one of our many state government offices and provide you with the chance to:

  •  Learn new skills – computer systems, communication, administration skills and more
  •  Engage with others – learning to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in person, via email and even face to face
  •  Understand how government works - what we do, how we do it and why.

 So why take up a school-based traineeship with DCS?

  •  Paid part time work experience up to $13.81 hour
  •  Nationally recognised qualification (Cert III in Business Administration) that can also count towards your HSC
  •  Real experience in government roles like customer service, admin, IT., communications and more
  •  Support from Aboriginal mentors, program coordinators and a buddy
  •  Work close to home with roles available in metro and regional locations
