About the Opportunity
This traineeship is located within the Brand, Digital and Communications Division of the Department of Customer Service.
As a trainee, you'll support a range of business areas through basic administration and business support activities while gaining exposure to the work that helps inform, engage and connect communities across NSW.
To provide a broad learning experience, you'll have the opportunity to rotate across four key areas during your traineeship:
- Customer Marketing
- Brand, Advertising and Engagement
- Digital Channels and Content
- Media and Stakeholder Communications
These rotations will allow you to learn about different career pathways and develop a diverse range of workplace skills.
What Will You Do?
You'll gain practical experience in areas such as:
- Customer service
- Administration and business support
- Workplace technology and digital systems
- Communication and teamwork
- Professional workplace skills
You'll work alongside experienced staff and contribute to services that support communities across NSW.
We're looking for students who are:
- Keen to learn and try new things
- Interested in helping people and providing great customer service
- Reliable, respectful and positive
- Comfortable using technology or willing to build their digital skills
- Able to work well with others and contribute to a team
No previous work experience is required.
You'll be supported every step of the way through:
- Aboriginal mentors
- Workplace buddies
- Dedicated program coordinators
- A supportive team committed to your success

These traineeships are funded through the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access employment and career development opportunities within the NSW Public Sector.
