Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that is dedicated to delivering quality specialist Alcohol and Drug Treatment, Housing and Homeless and other services to meet the needs of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) People and their families. Our services operate across Victoria.
The Job
The APRAP Private rental broker role generates private rental access opportunities and capacity to maintain tenancies, rather than direct client support. For example, the role includes advocating for at risk tenancies and negotiating payment plans: building relationships with real estate agents and landlords: ensuring eligible households are receiving relevant government concessions and payments: and building relationships with housing and homelessness services in the local area to ensure better access to resources for Aboriginal households. The APRAP Broker position works closely with he APRAP Plus Case worker.
Work with the APRAP Plus worker to provide clients with the following outcomes;
Data Management
• Maintaining accurate and up to date client records and case notes in the client’s file
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism including client confidentiality
General Duties
• Be available to take up additional responsibility as directed by the CEO
• Attend meetings as required
General Education and Training
• Participate in individual/group clinical supervision sessions
• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) evaluation
Health & Safety
• Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to do the same.
• Be aware of and adhere to OH&S and Health & Wellbeing policies and procedures
Teamwork and Agency Representation
• Maintain team boundaries and confidentiality in a professional manner
• Interact collaboratively within the team and actively participate in team meetings
