About the role
Ngankita Ngartu (Aboriginal Family Birthing Program) aims to improve maternal and neonatal health and wellbeing outcomes for all Aboriginal babies, their mothers, and families through the provision of culturally appropriate, safe and responsive care within a continuity of care framework.
The Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care (AMIC) Practitioner leads culturally safe maternity care alongside midwives and medical teams, supporting Aboriginal women and families through pregnancy and after birth. The AMIC Practitioner provides health education and family planning, and provides care in clinics, community settings, and home visits.
