Casa Services is seeking a dedicated and culturally connected Aboriginal Liaison Officer to build strong relationships, provide advocacy, and ensure our disability services are culturally safe and responsive for Aboriginal clients and their families.

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position, filled as an affirmative measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 and section 37 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1996 (NT).

The Role

ABORIGINAL LIASON OFFICER – ALICE SPRINGS

SCHADS Level 4 (Commencing at $88,099 progressing to $94,791)

Fixed Term Contract: This is a Full-Time 6-month contract, with flexibility to consider part-time applications for the right candidate.

In this role you will:

  • Provide culturally appropriate communication, advocacy, and guidance to clients and their families.
  • Support clients to navigate disability services and broader community systems.
  • Ensure cultural needs and preferences are reflected in support plans.
  • Facilitate participation in culturally significant events and community connections.
  • Offer cultural advice to staff and help embed cultural safety across the organisation.
  • Contribute to Casa’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and other cultural initiatives.

About You

  • You will be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person with:
  • Strong understanding of the cultural and social issues impacting Aboriginal people in Central Australia.
  • Experience in a support, liaison, or community engagement role.
  • Skills in cross-cultural communication and advocacy.
  • A current NT Driver’s Licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Clearance, and COVID-19 vaccination evidence.
  • Experience in the disability sector is valued but not essential
