About the opportunity
We are seeking 2 motivated and enthusiastic Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent candidates to join our heavy vehicle mechanic apprenticeship. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a qualified professional and obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification, commencing January 2026 on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 4 years.
Throughout the first 3 years, you will receive on the job training, and the 4th year will be a purely practical experience. Ideal candidates will embark on a structured learning journey, attending and successfully completing a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. During this apprenticeship, you will be working with, and supported by qualified tradespeople.
The salaries and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Blacktown City Council Enterprise Agreement.
