Celebrating Excellence and Empowering Change.  That’s our mission at MAX, where we recognize and celebrate the professional, educational, and charitable contributions of Muslims in North America.  Through events like the MAX Gala, we aim to inspire leadership and foster a dynamic community that energizes the economy and expands our cultural horizons.

In September 2015, a group of professionals came together with a vision ‘to elevate the brand of Muslims in Canada by recognizing & motivating high achievement.’ In an effort to recognize, celebrate, encourage and motivate such achievements, commitment to excellence and service- the concept of MAX was born. If you are passionate about your career, motivated to improve the lives of our community, committed to excellence, and helping others, consider joining MAX.

Role Overview

As a Mentorship Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and supporting a mentorship pod of mentors and mentees within a specific industry or professional area. You will oversee the onboarding process, provide ongoing guidance, facilitate communication, and ensure the smooth operation of all mentorship activities. While you may not always require deep technical expertise in the industry, your leadership, organizational skills, and dedication to mentorship best practices will be essential in creating a high-quality and engaging experience for all participants.

Mentorship Managers act as the primary point of contact for their pod, coordinating activities, monitoring progress, and helping mentors and mentees achieve their professional development goals. You will collaborate closely with City Leads, Industry Managers, and program stakeholders to continuously improve program delivery, foster meaningful connections, and contribute to the success of the MAX Mentorship Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the onboarding of mentors and mentees and provide ongoing guidance throughout the mentorship cycle.
  • Facilitate communication within mentorship pods to ensure active participation, engagement, and accountability.
  • Coordinate logistics for mentorship activities, including scheduling sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of mentorship participation, feedback, and program outcomes.
  • Support City Leads and Industry Managers with administrative tasks, program improvements, and resource development.
  • Collect and relay feedback from participants to enhance the mentorship experience and identify areas for growth.
  • Help develop tools, resources, and guidelines to ensure consistent, high-quality mentorship across pods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of professional experience or relevant work experience in any field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support and engage diverse groups of mentors and mentees.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination, program support, or community engagement is a plus.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and professional mentorship environment.

What We Offer

  • Flexible, fully remote volunteer role that fits alongside your professional commitments.
  • Valuable leadership experience contributing to a mentorship program with meaningful community impact.
  • Access to a network of Muslim professionals across diverse industries in North America.
  • Opportunities to build and showcase leadership, coaching, and program management skills in a nonprofit setting.
  • Professional development and invitations to MAX events, panels, and industry discussions.
  • The chance to support and empower the next generation of Muslim professionals and leaders.
  • A collaborative team environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
