Celebrating Excellence and Empowering Change.  That’s our mission at MAX, where we recognize and celebrate the professional, educational, and charitable contributions of Muslims in North America.  Through events like the MAX Gala, we aim to inspire leadership and foster a dynamic community that energizes the economy and expands our cultural horizons.

In September 2015, a group of professionals came together with a vision ‘to elevate the brand of Muslims in Canada by recognizing & motivating high achievement.’ In an effort to recognize, celebrate, encourage and motivate such achievements, commitment to excellence and service- the concept of MAX was born. If you are passionate about your career, motivated to improve the lives of our community, committed to excellence, and helping others, consider joining MAX.

Role Overview

As an Industry Manager, you will oversee and support a pod of approximately 10–18 mentors and mentees within a specific industry, such as Consulting, Law, Technology, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Healthcare, Public Service, or Business/Entrepreneurship.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the professional journeys of future leaders by coordinating a seamless mentorship experience that empowers, inspires, and drives growth. You will be the driving force behind onboarding, engagement, and ongoing support—ensuring your pod thrives through meaningful connections, timely communication, and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the end-to-end coordination of your mentorship pod’s activities, championing an inclusive and empowering culture that motivates mentors and mentees alike.
  • Orchestrate comprehensive onboarding that sets clear expectations and energizes participants to fully engage in the program’s transformative journey.
  • Foster continuous engagement by facilitating regular check-ins, curated events, and collaborative sessions designed to deepen industry insights and professional relationships.
  • Monitor mentorship dynamics closely, gathering actionable feedback and metrics to drive continuous enhancement of the pod’s experience and outcomes.
  • Serve as the critical communication bridge between your pod, city leadership, and MAX central teams, providing transparent updates and strategic insights.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with city leads, marketing, and volunteer teams to create and disseminate industry-specific resources that elevate the mentorship experience.
  • Inspire and sustain volunteer commitment by cultivating strong relationships, recognizing contributions, and creating a culture of belonging and purpose.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience with demonstrated leadership, team coordination, or program management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support diverse groups of professionals and volunteers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build trust and foster meaningful relationships.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to inclusivity, mentorship best practices, and community empowerment.
  • Experience in mentorship program management, volunteer leadership, or nonprofit coordination is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with professional development frameworks and volunteer engagement strategies.
  • Background in facilitating training, onboarding, or development workshops is an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated success leading diverse teams in mission-driven or fast-paced environments is preferred
