As the Senior Manager, Indigenous Employee Experience Advocate, you’ll lead initiatives that support, retain and engage our Indigenous staff. You’ll be a culturally safe first point of contact for Indigenous employees and leaders, providing advocacy and support in partnership with People Care, HRBPs, HR Direct and Workplace Relations.
You’ll champion cultural safety across the organisation — leading Yarning Circles, supporting cultural navigation, delivering development programs and coaching leaders to build capability and confidence.
Act as a trusted, culturally safe contact for Indigenous employees, coordinating support and referrals.
Lead inclusion and cultural safety initiatives, reporting on impact and outcomes.
Coach leaders in cultural competency and policies (e.g. Sorry Business, “tell us once”).
Develop and deliver retention and career development strategies.
Partner with communities and external networks to strengthen CBA’s reputation as an employer of choice.
Advocate for equity, systemic improvement, and clear career pathways.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge across HR, particularly in retention and engagement.
Deep understanding and lived experience of Indigenous culture and practices to foster inclusivity and respect.
Experience in culturally safe case navigation, advocacy, and referral coordination.
Sound subject matter expertise in delivering cultural awareness training.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Experience designing and delivering learning programs and initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing expectations.
Strategic thinking, problem solving, and data literacy.
Excellent communication and advocacy and AI skills.
Knowledge of policy, compliance, and non-financial risk practices.
Degree or equivalent experience in HR, Community Development, Social Work, Psychology or related fields.
Experience in case management, organisational development or cultural capability programs.
Lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
