The Town of Stony Plain is the local government authority responsible for planning and delivering municipal services in Stony Plain, a Canadian urban community of approximately 18,000 people on the traditional Indigenous lands of Treaty 6 peoples.

Job Description

The Town of Stony Plain is committed to its employees by providing a safe, fun, and supportive work environment, along with excellent experience and numerous employee incentives. The Town of Stony Plain is currently accepting applications for seasonal summer employment within the Utilities crew. Current or previous enrollment in the NAIT Water and Wastewater Technician program would be considered an asset.

We are seeking a candidate who can:

  • Perform a variety of water and wastewater distribution maintenance and service duties
  • Conduct hydrant flushing and maintenance
  • Install and read water meters
  • Collect water samples
  • Perform sewer main flushing

Qualifications

Conditions of Employment:

  • C.S.A. steel-toed boots
  • A clean Criminal Records check
  • A Valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license, and a satisfactory driver’s Abstract.
  • Current First Aid certification would be considered a definite asset.

In accordance with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955, current Collective Agreement, the wage is $32.96. Regular hours of work are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, and may consist of a compressed work week of four ten-hour days. The successful candidate must be willing to work overtime as required. The approximate term of the seasonal employment will be from May 4th, 2026 – August 28th, 2026.
