Seasonal Sportsfield Labourer

The Town of Stony Plain is the local government authority responsible for planning and delivering municipal services in Stony Plain, a Canadian urban community of approximately 18,000 people on the traditional Indigenous lands of Treaty 6 peoples.

The Town is currently accepting applications for seasonal summer employment for Arena and Sports Fields positions within the Parks and Leisure Services Team. As a member of this team, you will be dedicated to serving the citizens of Stony Plain by facilitating quality services in parks, recreation, and open spaces.

We are seeking a candidate who:

• Can perform grass cutting and weed eating duties.
• Can assist with painting and general maintenance tasks.
• Can maintain sports field surfaces and drag ball diamonds.
• Can carry out regular garbage collection and site clean-up duties.

Conditions of Employment:

• C.S.A. steel-toed boots
• A clean Criminal Records check
• A Valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license, and a satisfactory driver’s Abstract.
• Current First Aid certification would be considered a definite asset.

In accordance with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955, current Collective Agreement, the starting wage for these positions will be $21.97 per hour.  Regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  Some evening and weekend work may be required. The term of seasonal employment will be from May 4, 2026, – August 28, 2026.
