Salary: UOM 4 - $80,400 - $85,328 or UOM 5 - $86,943 - $99,864 p.a. plus 17% super 

Melbourne Indigenous Graduate Program (MI - Graduate) - Full Time; Fixed Term for 12 months  


Salary: UOM 6 - $100,807 – $109,163 p.a. plus 17% super

The Melbourne Indigenous Professional Employment Program (MIPEP) is an employment initiative designed to meet the needs of the Indigenous Australian community by supporting skill development and providing broad work experience. MIPEP also supplies the workforce with capable, qualified staff and makes a meaningful contribution to the University’s Indigenous staff priorities and targets. MIPEP offers two streams: the Melbourne Indigenous Trainee Program (MI - Trainee) and the Melbourne Indigenous Graduate Program (MI - Graduate). Melbourne Indigenous Traineeship Program (MI - Trainee) 

The University of Melbourne invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early to mid-career professionals to apply for MI-Trainee, a 24 month culturally safe and professionally enriching program. MI-Trainee provides pathways into professional careers at the University, combining mentorship, cultural immersion, and leadership development. 

Program Highlights: 

  • Accredited VET qualification while gaining real-world professional experience. 

  • Culturally safe workplace training, mentorship, and wrap-around support. 

  • Career development aligned with individual strengths and aspirations. 

Who Should Apply: 

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates. 

  • Year 12 or VET Certificate III attainment or equivalent relevant experience 

  • Motivated to develop professional skills and contribute to the University community.

Melbourne Indigenous Graduate Program (MI - Graduate) 

The University of Melbourne invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates to apply for the MI-Graduate, a 12-month culturally safe and professionally enriching program. MI-Graduate provides pathways into professional careers at the University, combining mentorship, cultural immersion, and leadership development. 

Program Highlights: 

  • Ongoing employment on successful completion. 

  • Tailored leadership training, Indigenous mentorship, and cultural education. 

  • Cohort engagement and professional development aligned with career aspirations. 

Who Should Apply: 

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander graduates (undergraduate or postgraduate) in the last 12 months. 

  • Strong academic record and leadership potential. 

  • Committed to culture, community engagement, and professional growth. 

  • Available for full program participation.
