Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
You will contribute to the teaching, postgraduate supervision and administration requirements of the Faculty, maintain and develop original scholarship and research, and undertake professional/community/iwi service and activities relevant to the profession and the discipline of Māori and Indigenous studies. Ideally your research area supports your teaching area of expertise and vice versa.
Salary will be in the range of $99,162 - $102,178 per year based on skills, knowledge experience and qualifications brought to the position. This is a fulltime, permanent role (37.5 hours a week), based at our Hillcrest Campus.

If you have a passion for teaching and nurturing students on their education pathways, then this is the position for you! Your friendly but professional personality will shine as you interact with the students sharing your knowledge, experiences and innovations with them making their learning experiences fun and enjoyable.
You are an excellent communicator and preferably have proficiency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga. You will be experienced in building and maintaining relationships with others as an effective team member who will happily contribute to team activities, not afraid to lead if required.
You are flexible and able to adapt to ‘life is like a box of chocolates situations’ on the daily. You will have strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Previous experience working with students in a tertiary environment would be advantageous.

Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao currently offers majors in Te Reo Māori and Māori and Indigenous Studies with a minor in Pacific and Indigenous Studies. We offer papers that lead towards the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Climate Change, and the Bachelor of Social Sciences. The Faculty also offers the Bachelor of Arts with Honours, Master of Arts, Master of Social Sciences, PHD programmes as well as other certificates and diplomas
