Indigenous Youth Mentor (Tutor) Position
2025-2026
The Near North District School Board is seeking Indigenous Youth Mentors (Tutors) to support the revitalization of Indigenous languages and cultures within our schools and communities. As an Indigenous Youth Mentor, you will facilitate language and cultural activities, working directly with Indigenous and non-indigenous students and families to foster engagement, learning, and pride in Indigenous history, culture and language . This role involves leading workshops, camps, and enrichment activities both during regular school hours. Mentors will collaborate with teachers, Elders, and community partners to deliver meaningful programming, and grow student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect. Mentors will work under the supervision of the Principal of Indigenous Education and as part of a team that includes two Indigenous Education Leads.
Criteria for Candidates
The successful applicant will possess and exhibit the following:
Rate of Pay: $30.00 per hour
