About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting Indigenous communities and making a meaningful impact? MADEC is seeking a dedicated Indigenous Programs Support Officer to join our Quality – Indigenous Programs team on a fixed-term contract through to June 2026. Enjoy the flexibility of part-time hours — up to 22.5 hours per week.



Description

In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative and customer support to staff, participants, and schools across our contracted programs. You’ll help maintain a professional and welcoming environment, manage enquiries and databases, assist with projects, and support leadership events and camps.

This position focuses on improving student outcomes by offering personalised support to help students overcome challenges, boost academic performance, and build confidence.



Skills And Experiences

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  •  A collaborative and proactive approach to supporting teams and stakeholders
  • Candidates must hold a current Working with Children Check (relevant to their state or territory) and a National Police Check, or be willing to obtain both.

In addition to the above, the desirable criteria are:

  • The person identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community;
  • Demonstrated experience in a Social & Emotional Wellbeing environments
