The People & Culture (P&C) Division sits at the heart of the Vice President Operations portfolio and plays a vital role in empowering our people and shaping an exceptional employee experience at UOW. Through close collaboration across business partnering, shared services and specialist teams—including Culture, Capability and Belonging; Wellbeing, Health and Safety; Workplace Relations; and Talent and Organisational Development—we deliver responsive, innovative and people centred support to our University community.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
You will identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and bring strong insight into Indigenous employment, cultural safety and career development. You’ll have experience in career development, coaching, mentoring or capability building, with the ability to tailor support to individual needs. Your strengths will include building effective relationships across teams and communities, communicating clearly, coordinating programs and understanding government and community initiatives that support Indigenous employment. You’ll work confidently both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a culturally safe and empowering environment for Indigenous staff.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will provide culturally informed career and performance advice to Indigenous staff and lead the design and delivery of career development, capability building and retention initiatives. You’ll coordinate recognition and development opportunities, support early career pathways such as cadetships and traineeships, and contribute to policy development and cultural capability uplift across UOW. Your work will also include supporting data collection and reporting to track outcomes, while upholding UOW’s Values in Action and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
