Mō te tūranga | About the Role

We are excited to announce we are seeking an Employee Experience Manager - Rangatahi Māori Career Pathways to join the People and Communications team to support for 12-months.

This new role, supported by executive leadership, enhances our commitment to Rangatahi Māori Career Pathways as part of our DEI Strategy, ensuring we grow a strong, sustainable pipeline of Māori talent across the bank.

The role will design, develop, and deliver early‑career pathway programmes for Rangatahi Māori (18-25 years of age), ensuring these programmes reflect Māori values, practices, and aspirations. A core focus is developing trusted relationships with community organisations, education providers, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to create meaningful opportunities and long‑term pathways. Alongside programme delivery, the role will contribute to broader initiatives that strengthen our Māori talent pipeline, such as advising on inclusive hiring, helping to grow cultural confidence, and increase the sense of belonging for Māori across the bank.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
 

  • Experience in programme design and delivery, ideally within earlycareer, talent development, HR, or DEI environments

  • Collaboration and strong relationshipbuilding skills, with experience engaging effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external partners, including Māori organisations, education providers, and community groups

  • Cultural competency in Te Ao Māori, with the ability to apply tikanga and engage confidently with Māori communities and perspectives

  • Influencing and advocacy capability, with experience promoting inclusive hiring practices and supporting organisational change

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly, build programme visibility, and engage diverse audiences

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple

  • workstreams, timelines, and stakeholders

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, education, social sciences, Māori development, or equivalent experience desirable
