Conservation Management Trainee - Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Targeted

Salary Range:  $747.30 - $1019 per week plus super 

Work type: Temporary Full Time 

Duration: Up to 12 months 

Commencing: February 2026 

Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person passionate about caring for Country and protecting the environment? 

Brisbane City Council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Pathway program will provide you with hands-on conservation experience while gaining a Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. This is a chance to connect with Country, restore natural landscapes, and develop a career in environmental management.

• Able to travel across Brisbane (some locations may not be serviced by public transport). 

After completing the traineeship, you’ll have: 

• a nationally recognised qualification (Cert II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management)
• hands-on experience in conservation projects
• the skills to apply for roles within Council or beyond.
