About the role

Provide, and actively contribute to improving, culturally sensitive alcohol and other drug counselling, treatment and care coordination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

  • Work as a Counsellor, primarily in the Stimulant Treatment Program & Gorman Unit withdrawal service

  • Conduct a range of clinical interventions, including psychosocial assessments, brief interventions, and ongoing therapeutic counselling and case management

  • Ensure the provision of appropriate, high-quality treatment, including developing client-centred care plans and collecting outcome measures

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal community organisations and the St Vincent's Aboriginal healthcare community and workforce

About you

  • A compassionate and skilled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Allied Health professional

  • Genuinely commitment to making a positive difference

  • Counselling, Social Work, Psychology qualifications and/or relevant experience in Drug and Alcohol and/or similar
